Just a few quick ones this week. I will not be on around Xmas so this will have to do for now!
Last week I displayed a number of photos of things waiting to be completed. Today I am showing one of my projects finally finished. I can now take it off my waiting list!
This is the nursery pillow I finally got around to finishing this past week. I made my own design and having never made one before, I guess it did not turn out too bad! I even made the internal pillow as this outer pillow has an envelop style back so it can be easily washed.
I had many things to take pictures of for this weeks challenge so I’m posting more than one. My personal favourite however, is the one of my dog.
I keep meaning to make one of these… I sometimes think I have not really done that much in life but then people remind me of the things I have forgotten about and I actually have done. I was reading a blog that I pop in on now and again and a bucket list was the topic. It got me thinking about what I have not done yet but I would still like to do. Things I can think of at the moment include:
become an official citizen of another country
finish writing my book (getting close)
publish my book
learn something new
sell one of my paintings
take more interesting photographs
go to Italy and Switzerland
plan a weekend getaway to a dog friendly place
go out for a picnic lunch with my husband
make more teddy bears
make my own duvet cover
ride a horse
host a small brunch/dinner party
find a home I want to buy and can afford
do a tandem parachute jump
have a shared hobby with my husband
learn to drive
fly in a Lancaster bomber
I do not live anywhere near my family. I have thought about this for the last few days and wondered, despite having photos of family, what I could take a photo of that, for me, would suggest more than a photo of actual family members. So, for the photo challenge of ‘family’ I had to be somewhat inventive.
I look at family like a bunch of shoes sitting at the front door of a home…
They are all different shapes, sizes and shades.
They have various jobs.
Some are young and some are old.
Some are brand new while others are seeing their last days.
Some are pretty and some are not.
We tend to be more fond of some than others.
Some fit us well while others do not.
Some are hard, pinch, cut and bruise while others are soft, soothing and comfortable.
Some take some getting use to.
Some don’t even belong to us.
Some are borrowed.
Some are gifts.
Some are messy while others are neat.
Some smell nice but others smell like they could use a good clean.
Some we would just love to send back and get a refund or trade in if at all possible. Usually we cannot, so, we keep them in the hope they will change in our estimation and we will learn to love them.
Despite everything, they find a way to nestle up side by side and exist together despite their differences.
